Those counties whose real personal income growth registered above the statewide average over this period realized an increase in their statewide share of real personal income. Likewise, those counties whose real personal income growth registered below the statewide average experienced a decline in their relative share of real personal income statewide.
Statewide Snippets:
  • Over 2000-2019 real personal income grew in all 24 Maryland counties.
  • Real personal income growth in fourteen counties outpaced the statewide average (43.95%), while growth in ten counties trailed.
  • At the extremes of the distribution, Frederick County posted the highest growth of real personal income (82.79%), while Somerset County placed last by logging a 13.07% gain.
