Those counties whose population growth registered above the statewide average over this period realized an increase in their statewide share of population. Likewise, those counties whose population growth registered below the statewide average experienced a decline in their relative share of population statewide.

  • Over 2000-2016 population grew in twenty-one Maryland counties while declining in three.
